How to Choose a Racket

STEP 01

Know Your Level

Your experience on court determines how much control you need. Beginners benefit from a larger sweet spot, while advanced players can handle a smaller one in exchange for more power.

Beginner — forgiving, easy to manoeuvre
Intermediate — balance of power and control
Advanced — maximum power, precise technique
STEP 02

Choose Your Shape

Shape determines where the weight sits and how the sweet spot feels. This is the most important decision — it directly affects how the racket plays on every shot.

Round — large sweet spot, control-oriented
Teardrop — balanced, suits all levels
Diamond — small sweet spot, power-oriented
STEP 03

Pick Your Carbon

Carbon grade affects the stiffness and responsiveness of the frame. Higher grades are more rigid and transfer more energy to the ball. Lower grades are more flexible and forgiving.

3K — flexible, forgiving, entry level
12K / 18K — stiffer, more responsive
24K / T700 — maximum stiffness, advanced
